Many freelance writers also write across genres, and one project that comes up around the holidays is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which is in November. However, many contractors and work-at-home workers have similar end of the year projects. For example, it's likely that freelance bookkeepers are gearing up for a lot of end-of-the-year work.
While it's unfortunate that busy times come during holiday times, independent contractors can be proactive, instead of reactive, with deliberate scheduling (see Step #1!).
