Definition: A trade magazine is a periodical dedicated to a specific career, industry or niche. Both the ads and content appeal to a very specific segment of people who are, generally, working or operating within that industry. Examples include Promo, written for ad execs, or Wood Digest, aimed at woodworkers.
Also Known As: trade journal
Examples: While I have not yet broken into a national consumer glossy, my work has appeared in several trade journals.
