Definition: For a freelancer, a contract is an agreement between the writer and the employer, and can be either hard copy or electronic. Freelance contracts vary widely in type, from a simple Letter of Agreement between the two parties, all the way to a binding legal document. Contracts can include information about copyright, ownership and fees.
