A Primer to the Lucrative World of Copywriting

Saturday November 29, 2008

I am quite pleased with the recently published book "Kick-ass Copywriting in 10 Easy Steps." Although I've written copy professionally for a while, this book has definitely taken my game to the next level. The author, Susan Gunelius, is an expert- as evidenced by the fact that she's taken a somewhat involved field and managed to distill it down to the information needed by beginning copywriters, all without dumbing it down, and still providing information for intermediate copywriters, too! Even if you're currently writing copy, it's worth checking out.

I have tried to start doing freelance copywriting, and found it impossible to get a single job. I am in Buffalo, NY, and the economy is absolutely horrible.

I did many targeted mailings and follow-ups to specific individuals at hand-picked companies.

I have no samples, which is all they seem to want. Also, they want you to know HTML and stuff that I don’t know.
