So, Exactly How Much Money Do Freelancers Make?

Ah, the age old question. There are many ways to figure out the pay levels of freelance writers. However, a few brave freelancers in the field have made this a lot easier by posting a monthly income report. How convenient for you, dear reader!

I'm pretty sure the idea started with the ladies at Berry Brewer who report their earnings at Freelance Parent. Then, I heard veteran writer Dana Prince posted her report today. Not to be outdone, I posted my October report at my personal blog, and my September report is somewhere back there in the archives, too.

Guess what? There's a wide variety there. Amounts differ based on hours, full time/part time, and kinds of writing. Obviously some of you, readers, write for pretty high end magazines, or perform expert-level copywriting, and turn a decent buck. Some freelancers out there are just getting started, and make not nearly enough with web content. And then, there are a bunch of us treading water somewhere in the middle.
