StudentFl.com- New Bidsite Aimed At Student Freelancers

Saturday April 19, 2008

In a similar vein as Elance and Guru, StudentFL.com allows "buyers" to post freelance projects and "sellers" to bid on them- with one difference: Student Freelance is aimed at U.S.-based college students who have freelance talents to offer. Of course, these will likely be 80% biz-tech and/or internet-based freelance opportunities. Those looking to dip their feet into the freelance world can check it out at www.studentFL.com. Current listings include 6 writing jobs, although most have lowball budgets at the moment.

A friend of mine sent me the site so I went on and took a look. I opted to bid on one of the few non-low ball projects and I started a discussion with the guy who posted it. Although we didn’t use the site to “close” the deal I have started working with them at a reasonable rate writing. So far, so good. So, I’d have to recommend the site. However, it is limited to college students and activity is still minimal but I assume it’ll pick up as it gets more popular.

That’s a great way to use it, Alfonso- just make sure you’re getting paid what your time is worth!
