If I could just write more and more often! My last blog entry (immediately below on this page) asked "what keeps you from writing?" In addition, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) just ended. NaNoWriMo focuses on pounding out the words with no distractions. Hmm...do you think us writers might be an easily distracted group?
One writing/production tool that I've been fortunate to discover is the Neo by AlphaSmart. The Neo is basically a word processor, but with the added feature of a USB-enabled download, so that you can send your documents over to your computer. While I was trying out the Neo, I found it was so much easier to just keep writing without the distraction of the internet, my other computer files or the bulkiness of my laptop. I'm looking for more tools/tips/tricks to streamline my writing...let me know your hints, too!

Check your grammar, please…
I agree whole-heartedly! I took the plunge and bought a NEO last year at the first of the year. I absolutely love it! The keys are no different than my laptop’s, not to mention the automatic save feature is great….I have to admit….my kitty pawing at plugs has more than once lost me part of my stuff on my pc. No more!
The NEO is very affordable, compact, easy to use, and tough/rugged….
The only thing I wished it had has a LED light behind the screen…make it easier to see in dim areas. Other than that, I am a very happy writer!
Heidi, I KNOW. I have completely lost things due to errant toddler hands, pawing dogs, etc.
Glad I’m not the only one who forgets to save everytime my kitty goes under the desk. …
LOL at the kitty pawing…
Yup, Neo is a great tool. I love using mine outdoors where a laptop would be impossible.
To find more valuable content for bloggers and on blogging, writing, articles etc. – I may perhaps mention a web site with a huge supply of material for you, 55,000 articles, humanly edited, among other – ArticleNorth directory, might be of interest.
On this site you will also find free software’s (not junk), ebooks, video’s and reports of absolutely top quality business communications and advertising programs as well, if you also are interested and on a lookout for new possibilites within the field.
hmmm I like the sound of free software. I’ve been looking for something to manage my projects, but have decided to stick with Excel for now.
Hi Allena,
I just wanted to let you know that I have the business version of the Neo called the DANA. It’s the best thing! I’ve had my DANA for almost three years and used through grad school. No more notebooks for me!
I’m so happy to see that someone appreciates the Neo/Dana as much as I do.
That sounds so nice Heidi! Maybe there’s one under my tree right now, haha.
